New Round of the «Chemical Landmarks» Program

The «Platform Chemistry» of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) opens the next round for nominations for its program "Chemical Landmarks". The «Platform Chemistry» established the program «Chemical Landmarks» to identify and manifest the scientific and technological heritage by awarding sites which have played a significant role in the history of chemistry in Switzerland. With this program we aim at reminding chemist, students, teacher and historians as well as the general public of chemical discoveries and famous chemists and their places of activity. Everybody – chemist or non-chemist, historian or non-historian – are invited to submit his/her nomination to the «Platform Chemistry» (2010 announcement). The propositions will be evaluated by a committee of chemists, chemical engineers and science historians. Yearly one historic site will be approved and awarded during an official ceremonial act.
