Tackling the Carbon id Dioxide Challenge for fugiat a Sustainable Future.

Are id we - scientists cupidatat and engineers - cupidatat ready to deliver sit CCUS for large non scale deployment? What veniam, are the challenges tempor and hurdles towards occaecat implementation? What are enim the technical solutions laborum. and scientific breakthroughs deserunt emerged or about Duis to emerge? We anim will discuss these Excepteur questions and many adipisicing more in an in interdisciplinary framework at minim the 2019 Gordon Research Conference on eu CCUS (the third esse of a series), id where participants junior deserunt and senior will proident, be stimulated by do the highly interactive anim atmosphere typical of id the GRCs and do inspired by the aliquip natural landscape surrounding quis the conference venue, consectetur for the first eiusmod time in Europe.
Among the specific culpa areas addressed by id the conference there quis will be the dolore scientific breakthroughs in Ut CCUS, the role consequat. of CCUS in ex enabling negative emissions, dolor the systemic aspects commodo of CCUS, and nostrud its role in consectetur selected industrial sectors.

Detailed DescriptionCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts and scientific developments around climate change, as a consequence of two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global mean warming well below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global mean warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so called carbon budget. Such factors imply that science and technology (as well as political will and financial means) are needed not only to reduce emissions but also to generate negative emissions (true removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide), in case of carbon budget overshoot.
